Tanya Suin
Counsellor + Social Worker

I can provide social work advocacy and counseling interventions using integrative and holistic therapeutic approaches bilingually (English and Mandarin).

Since 2007, I have worked in the health sector providing social work and counselling in different settings. In 2017 I set up a private practice to fully utilise my knowledge and skills to benefit local communities, especially the migrant and ethnic people.

I believe there is no perfect model when working in New Zealand – the island of diversity. I work culturally respectfully and sensitively with clients from all cultures and walks of life.

My special expertise is combining social work experience and counseling skills to talk through issues like

  • depression,
  • anxiety,
  • insomnia,
  • social phobia,
  • relationships in the workplace and families,
  • financial hardship,
  • housing problems,
  • grief and bereavement,
  • palliative care and carers burden;
  • seeking ways to reduce or resolve the issue, achieving goals set by the clients.

From my successful settlement journey, I understand the challenges faced by migrants and refugees. I would walk alongside my clients when they face life changes and adjustments. I am willing to advocate and assist my clients in developing their goals and plans to fit their needs.

I provide a mobile clinic within the Great Auckland area and online sessions are available nationwide.
