Liz Baker received her doctoral training in clinical psychology at Brigham Young University in Utah, United States in 2010. She specializes in group, individual, and couples therapy for people living with posttraumatic symptoms, depression, anxiety, marital distress, chronic pain and a variety of other difficulties. Liz believes that mindfulness, self-compassion, connecting relationships, and values congruent activities are key parts of the healing process.
Before coming to Aotearoa in 2023, she worked as a pain psychologist and neuropsychologist at Utah Valley Pain Management in Orem, Utah for 12 years. She offers generalist therapy services through her private practice, Liz Baker Psychological Services. She also enjoys working on the interdisciplinary pain management team at Dunedin Hospital Persistent Pain Service.
Outside of work, she enjoys all things creative and loves spending time outdoors and with her family.
